Musings on dystopia

You know those moments when the pressure’s on, when we’re pushing our body, and when we’re fixated on a single objective, we sometimes suddenly see the world a bit more clearly? Like a quick out-of-body zoom-out?

Just had one while running to catch the train. Sprinting down the streets of the city, noticing (anew) how dystopian America has become. Police officers everywhere, swarms of protestors gathering at City Hall, everyone clad is light blue masks, meanwhile tons of urban elite wine and dine on the sidewalks as if nothing was up — and they’re so...public about it too. This place is transformed.
